Some museums completely change the way you see a place by revealing what lies beneath it.
They might focus on archaeology, buried settlements, old foundations, tunnels, ancient roads, or layers of history hidden below modern streets. Often these museums are much smaller than major archaeological institutions, but they provide a fascinating look at how a town or city developed over centuries.
What I enjoy most is how they connect the present-day location with people who lived there long ago. After visiting, even an ordinary street can feel different because you know more about what came before.
