Museums hidden inside buildings you would normally walk past

Some hidden-gem museums do not announce themselves with grand entrances or famous architecture. They are tucked inside old town halls, libraries, railway buildings, schools, warehouses, churches, apartments, or small civic buildings that many visitors might pass without noticing.

That kind of setting can make the visit feel more personal. You step through a modest doorway and suddenly find a careful collection, a local story, or a room full of objects that explain something important about the place.

Sometimes the quietest entrance leads to the most memorable discovery.

Have you ever visited a museum that was hidden inside an ordinary-looking building and turned out to be much more interesting than expected?
