Some exhibitions try to show as much as possible, while others use fewer objects and give each one more space to breathe.
When done well, a more selective exhibition can feel very powerful. A small number of carefully chosen pieces, strong lighting, clear labels, and enough space around each object can make visitors slow down and look more closely.
Of course, this only works when the selection feels confident. If there are too few objects without a clear reason, the exhibition can feel thin. But when the editing is sharp, fewer things can sometimes say more.
Have you seen an exhibition where a limited number of objects made the experience stronger?
Did the extra space help you focus, or did you wish there had been more to see?
