Do You Ever Photograph the Museum Before You Go Inside?

0 replies0 likesAugust 14, 2026

I realised recently that some of my favourite museum photos were taken before I even entered the building.

Entrance signs, people arriving, banners for current exhibitions, queues, courtyards, and the surrounding streets can capture the feeling of arriving somewhere in a way that an interior photo doesn't.

Do you normally start taking photos before you enter a museum, or does the camera only come out once you're inside?
