Do museums need better places to sit and pause?

A good museum visit is not only about what you see. It is also about having enough space to slow down, rest, and think.

Seating can make a surprisingly big difference. A bench in the right place lets visitors spend longer with an artwork, look again at a display case, talk quietly with someone, or simply recover before moving into the next room. Without places to pause, even a great museum can start to feel tiring too quickly.

I do not think every gallery needs to be filled with benches, but thoughtful seating can make a museum feel more human and more welcoming.

Do you notice seating when you visit museums?

Have you been somewhere where a well-placed bench, chair, or quiet corner made the visit better?
